Twintsugi by Japanese architect/designer Jo Nagasaka explores the art of kintsugi, the japanese method of repairing broken pottery with lacquer dusted with gold, silver or platinum. In original kintsuki, the resulting colored joints meant to be appreciated as the ‘landscape’ of the repaired object. In Nagasaka’s work, the broken pieces are re-fitted as twins to create entirely new objects and new landscapes.
