Bubblegraphy by Studio Oddness

Studio Oddness is a recently established collaboration between designers Thomas van der Sman and Adrianus Kundert. In their first project, Bubblegraphy, they explore the theme of randomness and it’s place in modern manufacturing processes. In Bubblegraphy, foaming soap glaze creates beautiful, organic patterns on the surface of handcrafted ceramic vases. By blowing air into the glaze to create bubbles and dipping the vases into them, van der Sman and Kundert are able to create completely unique, random patterns on each piece, thus embodying the definition of randomness. The shapes of the vases are further accentuated by manipulating the size and location of the bubbles.
