Mino-yaki for Miyama by Nendo

Mino-yaki is a type of pottery and porcelain with more than 1300 years of history, traditionally produced in the Tono region of Gifu Prefecture in Japan. In Mino-yaki, Nendo combines ‘mino-yaki’ pieces with ‘kintsugi’, the art of repairing broken ceramic pieces with glue lacquer. Three identically shaped but different coloured mino-yaki pieces are cut and refitted with black lacquer glue to form these unique designs. The collection was designed for the EXPO Milano 2015 Japan Pavilion Gallery Space.
