Dent Lamp by Skrivo

Dent Lamp by Milan-based design agency Skrivo is a series of clay pendant lamps that reinterpret the clay throwing process. The project’s starting point was the manufacturing process which, in most cases, produces perfectly symmetrical shapes. The next step was to take this shape, in this case a perfectly round clay tube, and distort it by putting a dent in it, allowing the shape to warp and become asymmetrical. The resulting objects highlight how difficult it is to create a perfectly round shape and references the struggles of beginner clay throwers who tend to create uneven and distorted objects while learning.
