Elastic Lights by Marta Bordes

Elastic Lights by Marta Bordes is a collection of lights that question the role of traditional ceramic objects. We often think of ceramic objects as fragile and decorative, when in fact mechanical ceramics are often used in advanced machinery. In Elastic Lights, Bodes aimed to expose the technical properties of the material by designing a series of objects with an articulated mechanism visible to the user. Simple geometric components linked by elastic cords offer a simple visual and tactile feature which invites you to manipulate the object and enjoy the feeling of the smooth ceramic pieces sliding upon each other.
