Luscious Food Cravings by Ido Garini and Dutch studio Lenneke Wispelwey is a multidisciplinary design project redefining the traditional eating experience. On top of a collection of products for dining, the team has realised a complete culinary journey that rethinks the traditional activity of eating involving food, photography, utensils and tableware. The series of porcelain ‘dishes’ created for the project redefine shape and use, with ceramic cones presenting food in a completely new, almost fetishistic way.
Ido Garini on the project:
‘The whole idea behind these cones is a new way to present food, to create a complete image of the cone with the food on top of it. It really glorifies the food in a way, because it becomes like an ornament that you can put on the wall like an art piece or still life object. We created this world of images, especially for the project. Our goal for the photography was to create something like a still life painting, so all of our photographs are inspired by still life paintings.’
