Paperlaine by Ahsayane Studio is a collection of pendant lamps made from a material mix of porcelain, recycled paper and ceramic pigments. The lamps are created by wrapping the paper clay onto existing cylindrical bowls of different organic shapes and sizes. The paper clay then takes on the shape of the mold it is wrapped on during an air drying process. Eight different bowls are used to achieve a wide variety of shapes and forms. The lamps are finished using traditional ceramic glazing and firing techniques, but remain extremely lightweight due to their unusual material and thin frames.
