Vase with Stone by Martín Azúa

In Vase with Stone, Barcelona-based designer Martín Azúa creates objects where craftwork and nature converges without artifice, where artisan gestures and materials are equally important. The project’s aim is to establish the dialogue of an organic element and a traditional craft object. Azúa achieves this by distorting a raw ceramic shape with a rock while the shape is still in it’s plastic stage. The results are decorative vases with pebbles seamlessly embedded in them. The vases were not designed to hold flowers, but to act as beautiful, decorative objects. All pieces are signed and numbered and are delivered with the colera stones from Costa Brava and Catalonia that distort them.
