Singapore-based designer Nathan Young created a set of lamps served on wooden trays using and repurposing the familiar shapes of canned and bottled processed food products. Young wants these forms to be recognized for more then the infamous foods they contain. For Young, these shapes also carry an emotional load as these were the foods he so often ate with his not very well off family growing up in Singapore. The collection comes in three sizes titled $1.50, $2.50 and $3.00, the typical cost of a meal in Singapore from the 80s to today.
